Club of the Week - Josie2 Adventure Quest

Welcome, I want to take a moment and introduce you to a new area of the ThereFunTimes!  A Club of the Week Section to celebrate our community in There!  Clubs are a fantastic way for members to meet other members of similar interests, and a wonderful way to invite others to events, activities, and discussions that also fit those similar interests.  Each week I am going to pick an active club to highlight.  I will start with one of the oldest, yet still extremely active clubs; The Adventure Quest Club, led by Josie2!

The Adventure Quest Club opened in February of 2003, and is accepting new members.  If you like quests, and would like invites to Josie's and all the writers in the Adventure Quest Club, please feel welcome to join today!

Josie was so kind to allow a quick interview, here is what she had to say!  Thank you Josie2 for all you do in There for all of us!

Mackie:  What is the purpose for your club?
Josie2:    To promote fun in There by providing opportunities for questing and questmaking.

Mackie:   What was your first quest?
Josie2:     I actually did my first There quest back in the days of private Beta.  At that time we had no documents other than signs, so I dropped signs with stories and picture links at spots around There that illustrated my story.  There were no answer boxes and no progress lists, but it was the beginning of questing in There.  I also used aerial view to identify a location that I called Manoa's heel.  The aerial view shows some landforms that appear to be in the shape of a foot.  That's how Manoa's Toe got it's name.

Mackie:   How many active quest writers do you have in your club?
Josie2:   There are about 15-20 who write for Adventure Quest on a regular or semi-regular basis.  Maybe another half a dozen of the club members make quests for their own clubs or zones  There have been maybe 6-10 additional quest clubs which sprang from our membership and provided regular quests for a period of time.

Mackie:  Have you seen a lot of new quest writers from the club that previously had only tried to solve the quests?
Josie2:    In addition to the writers who write for me currently, there are maybe another half a dozen of the club members who make quests for their own clubs or zones  There have been maybe 6-10 additional quest clubs which sprang from our membership and provided regular quests for a period of time.

We commonly have members who say they enjoy questing as their primary activity in There.  Many of those express an interest in writing quests.  The enthusiasm dampened a bit with the removal of quest kits from the shop.  I'm very thankful that the invisible ones are back up for sale

Mackie:      How many quests would you say you’ve written in There?
Josie2:        More than 50.

Mackie:     Do you write outside of There?
Josie2:      Yes, I have written a couple articles for journals and developed and edited support documents for educational programs.  My personal goal is to complete a novel I'm working on.  It's historical fiction with elements of fantasy and adventure.

Mackie:    Do you have any plans for the club you’d like to tell us about?
Josie2:      I look forward to having more time to spend on club writing and awards programs.  I also have some questing surprises stirring around in my head, but I don't want to reveal those yet.  The questers must have mysteries to solve and clues to piece together.
