Vrrrrrrrroooooooooooooom!   Gimme fuel, gimme fire, gimme that buggy I desire!  Oh, the rush of adrenaline those buggies give me, lining up at the starting gate for a race still gives me such a thrill!  Having had a race car in real life, the similarities of the adrenaline rush amazes me, and it’s no wonder my first 4 months in There were strictly spent in my buggy.  The tingle when she announces the race’s beginning, the roar of the buggies as we punch it at the start gate, the excitement when you land yourself in the front of the pack… Ahh.  I do crave it!  You buggy drivers know exactly what I am talking about too!  I have two stress relievers in There:  I either build a track or find one to run laps on. I let my mind work out issues as my avatar laps over and over.  All the vehicles in There are wonderful, and add so much to our world, but I’ve always found the buggies to be my favorite, I <3 my buggy! Vrooom!

I took a look around some racing zones this week and found one that piqued my interest.  Antaios is the leader of the There Buggy Legends Group.  The group is not a race team, rather fellow buggy drivers that care and want a pleasant racing community.  This is just one group that really shines with the community spirit in There, and I am proud to present you a little interview with the leader of the legends, Antaios.

Antaios, thank you for taking the time to interview with me!

Mackie:            What is the purpose of your club?

Antaios:            The purpose of the There Buggy Legends is to give an avenue to all buggy drivers. A club they can be a member of and still be a member of other Buggy clubs. We are here to help people get better, share our knowledge of the buggy and the rules of the road.

Our goal is to help preserve the basics of being a good member of There and to give people something they can be proud of.

Yes I am a Legend because my peers see me as a Legend. I might not be a great buggy driver, but I will get better with the help of the legends. A legend isn’t just someone that can drive a buggy and have the legendary skill. it is someone that stands out as a person who gives a helping hand to those people that need help and is an all round good member of the community of There.

Mackie:            How many members are in your club?

Antaios:            We are at 90 members and growing

Mackie:            Are you a team?

Antaios:            We are not a team we are members of other racing teams we have

atleast one member from every buggy club, in this club.

Mackie:            Are you all legendary Buggy Drivers in the skill ladder?

Antaios:            We are not all legendary buggy drivers. But as a member we are all working towards being legendary. We take anyone interested in being legendary buggy driver and those who just love driving these monsters.

Mackie:            Do you sit and giggle at newbie drivers who haven’t found action mode, or are you a helpful gang, taking in the rookies?

Antaios:            Well we aren't a "gang" I know the look might give that impression but we are just a bunch of goof balls. I offer helpful advice for the newbies who are just starting out. I know when I first started I didn't know how to use the boost and I had some nice members help me figure things out. It’s one reason the legends were born- you’re a legend to me if you helped someone out. I also have in the works some helpful videos that will give newbs a better understanding as to why things work as they do and it helps those of us that are experienced in knowing how we can work around the bugs.

And also I am thinking of making a buggy class for newbs to join and the experienced ones too.

Mackie:            What is the best thing all members should see in There?

Antaios:            I think all members should see life in there isn't always about being the best but to have fun and seeing people having fun. I have been very forgiving with newbs who don't understand rules. I was one at one point.

Mackie:             Do you have club meetings, or do you just discuss in the racingzone window?

Antaios:            We don't have any set meetings. Lately due to my new job position I had little time to make meetings, but we discuss things at events, in the zones. I do send out emails to all the members when a special event is happening or to make announcements

Mackie:  Anything else you would like to add?

I would like to add that There Buggy Legends is all about being a legend to your peers more then having that skill in your profile. A true legend is truthful, honorable, respectable, kind, and heartfelt; one who steps beyond their group of friends to help out those around you to be better people in this world, and in real life... Skill is a bonus, the experience so you can teach others. If you don't teach others you will never become better since you will never have anyone to compete with.  I would like to thank all the Legends in this game, in this club and in our world for making the buggy community a respected and honored community.
