Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort

In support of the Community efforts and in response to the destruction and tragedies related to Hurricane Katrina, Makena Technologies, Inc. together with The Maya Foundation (CEO Michael Wilson's foundation), promised to match the Community contributions up to $50,000.00 US. We raised 5,204,091T (or $2,891.16) and as promised, Makena and Maya have not only matched, but doubled your generous contributions with a donation of $5,782.32 for a total contribution of $8,673.48.

A special thank you to all of our generous members who made a donation!

Of course, now that the Relief Fund has closed, you can still make your donation directly to the American Red Cross.

State of Play - MMORPG Public Space Design Competition

The State of Play is hosting a special design contest for virtual worlds and we'd like to encourage Thereians to participate!

So, as an additional incentive, we are excited to announce that we will match the cash prize if you win with a submission of something you created in There.

Special Bonus:

1st Prize: $500 cash bonus
2nd Prize: $250 cash bonus
3rd Prize: $100 cash bonus

This brings the potential cash prize up to $1000! We've got some amazingly talented folks in There, good luck to all!

Race Scoring, Ratings and Rankings!

We're introducing revised Rankings and Ratings, as well as a new Scoring system, to be a better representation of Racing prowess and to make it more fun to be a racing superstar. Scoring tallies a Racer's best efforts every day, and publicizes the highest achievers. And we've revised the Rankings system, to make it more fun for starting players and more challenging in the long term for experienced ones. We're starting with Buggy Races, but this is just the first phase, and we hope coming phases will expand to other sports too.

We hope to have these changes in the next release, scheduled for the latter part of this month. Read More

It's the new official look for members of the In-World-Operators. It's not a coincidence that the outfits look similar to the Thereian Help Center kiosks. Mission Slightly Difficult Sneak Peak

The real life gathering at There headquarters in San Mateo had many highlights for me, one in particular was the screening of the sneak peak for Mission Slightly Difficult. I had been involved in a few minor parts during the shooting so I had particular interest in the project... a joint project of writer Rick_Slick, There filmmaker Francis_7, Disky and the rest of the Miracle Pictures group.
