On the 8/21/07 update, locks were changed so that vehicles which have locks will show the lock option only when the vehicle is in a zone owned or operated by the same person as the owner of the vehicle.

If your vehicle is outside of a zone that you control, the lock option will not appear on your buggy, identical to what you would see if your buggy did not have a lock.

You may lock your vehicle if both of the following are "yes"

1) The vehicle has a lock.

• Inside or outside zones, vehicles which do not have locks will not show the lock option. Only vehicles purchased from Shop Central will have locks. Vehicles purchase from auctions are not currently guaranteed to have locks, even if they are vehicles purchased from Shop Central.

2) The vehicle is in a zone controlled by you. This may be:

1. A portazone you own
2. A neighborhood lot you own and have rented in a neighborhood zone
3. A funzone or house that has an active event running that has your avatar set as the host

Outside of a zone controlled by you, the lock option will not appear.
