The world of There is filled with major landmarks and icons. Arguably, though, no figure is more famous or instantly recognizable than Aral. She welcomes new members to There and is always at the ready to share her helpful hints. As much as we love Aral, we couldn't help noticing that her look had become rather… outdated.  Over the summer, we tasked our designers in the There Fashion Challenge with creating a new signature look for Aral - one that would give her a younger, fresher look.  Nine contestants tackled this challenge, each with a very distinctive approach to the task. Community voting followed, and c5studio's design was chosen as the winner.  Aral's new look was both designed by a member and voted on by the members - she is truly the community's Aral.

The new Aral looks more fashionable, but she's still the same helpful, fun, welcoming gal we all know and love. As c5studio explained during the contest, "I wanted to create a line of clothes for Aral that was versatile, comfortable, and contemporary. Aral's style should fit a variety of situations and be able to adapt to diverse environments in There, plus exude confidence and fun as the face of There. Aral needs clothes that let her work hard, play hard and still have her looking great."  We are very excited to introduce the new Aral to the There community!  Congratulations again to c5studio for a job well done.  Starting today, we plan to change all the Aral images across the 3D world and the There.com web site. Some might take longer to replace than others - for instance, Aral's informative pop-ups will continue to have her original look for a while longer. We think we found all the images of Aral for this change, but if you see one we missed, please let us know.
