Developer Program News for Virtual Laguna Beach

All,

Since its alpha launch this summer, we’ve frequently been asked if and when a developer program would be available in Virtual Laguna Beach.

MTV is now ready to begin establishing a developer program in VLB, and they have requested that we begin by testing a limited number of items. They wanted to start with clothing, so they looked through our auctions and identified around 250 existing items that they thought would be a good match. Given the small number of items chosen for this test (and the fact that it’s all clothing), only a few developers will be involved at this stage. We’ll be contacting these people directly about the permissions and logistics needed to make these items available in VLB. If you don’t hear from us, it means that one of your items was not included in the initial testing batch. However…

Once we test these initial items and resolve any issues that arise, the plan is to work with MTV to get other existing items into VLB, and then to move toward establishing a more permanent developer program in VLB. This will most likely happen in a series of stages, with each stage expanding the number of items and developers involved. We will keep you informed as we move through the process, troubleshoot any issues that come up, and receive more feedback from MTV.
