While we are continuing to work to bring up the failed avatar server as soon as possible, many members are experiencing confusion about what the down server means for them.

Due to this outage, members may experience the following:

1) Items in inventory that are "homed" to the down server will disappear from inventory, or show as "not yours"
2) Portazones homed to the down server will disappear from world - these portazones will not count down time for the period of time they are disappeared.
3) Avatars homed to this server will not be able to log in. "An error was encountered logging you in."
4) FUnzones and houses located on this server will not operate. The info page will say "This place does not currently have a description. Please try back later."

Other issues can be experienced, even for avatars not located on this server, as other servers can experience "sympathy pains" due to the inability to contact the down server for so long.

UPDATE 6 [ 10am 2/12 ] - Late last night the process of restoration was completed and the server was brought online. Since then we have been monitoring and have detected no further problems stemming from this issue.

UPDATE 5 [ 09:17 PST ] - We are still in the process of restoring avman14, and expect it to complete by 11am. We apologize for the delay, and will post updates as they are available.

UPDATE 4 [ 23:45 PST ] - We have to restore the avman14 database from the mornings backup and then apply all the changes from Sunday. This process, which started at 17:45, is taking significantly longer than anticipated. Based on the process time, the server may not be back online until after maintenance on Monday morning. UPDATE 3 [ 16:21 PST ] - We are still experiencing problems with avatar server 14 and will need to do another restore. Estimated outage for this server is approximately two hours. -- Makena Ops
