Development FAQ
Q. What is a Development Zone?
A. A Development Zone is similar to a Neighborhood Zone with one key
difference. While the owner and tenants of a Neighborhood Zone are
both able to drop and move Neighborhood Lots within a Neighborhood, the
owner of a Development Zone is the only person who can drop Development
Lots within his or her Zone. Development tenants cannot drop, pick-up
or move any Lots they have rented within a Development Zone. This
gives the Development owner more control over the layout of the Zone.
Q. How can I purchase a Development Zone?
A. At this time Development Zones are owned and operated by There Staff only.
Q. Do Development Zones have Clubs?
A. Yes, each Development Zone has a club, which provides group email,
club forums and transfer fund capabilities to Development members. All
tenants who wish to rent Lots in a Development must first join the
Development Club.
Q. What is a Development Lot?
A Development Lots have the same Permissions and Event Capabilities as
a Neighborhood Lot. The Lot renter can change the environment, weather,
zone description, entry and activity permissions, and maximum capacity
of the Development Lot. However, the Development Lot renter does not
have the ability to pick up the Lot or take it with them. The
Development Lot can only be moved by the Development Owner.
Q. How can I rent a Development Lot?
A. There are two ways to rent a Development Lot:
- Available Development Lots are listed in Auctions. On your toolbar go to Shop>Auctions>Neighborhoods>There Neighborhood Lots.
Development Lots are categorized under Neighborhoods, but do not let
the categorization confuse you. Development Lots and Neighborhood Lots
are two separate Real Estate products in There.
- Explore a Development Zone in-world to find an available Lot to rent. Walk into the Lot and click This Place>Rent It.

A one-acre Lot has 50 drops and costs 24,000T per month.
A half-acre Lot has 30 drops and costs 15,000T per month.
A quarter-acre Lot has 20 drops and costs 9,000T per month.

Q. Can I sell the rental rights to my Development Lot?
A. Yes, the Lot renter can give, trade, or auction the rental rights to
the Development Lot. Keep in mind that you will not be reimbursed for
any rent you have already paid for the current month.
Q. What happens if I relinquish my Development Lot or Quit the Development Club?
A. An individual Lot rental can be relinquished by the current renter
at any time. If a member relinquishes their Lot all of the money in the
Escrow account transfers directly to the Development Zone owner. The
Lot renter will not receive a refund of pro-rated rent. If a
Development tenant quits the Development Club and they rent one or more
Lots in the Development Zone then all of their Lots will be
relinquished and the rent in Escrow will transfer directly to the
Development Owner.
Q. Can the Development owner evict my Lot from the Development Zone?
A. The Development Owner can evict a tenant’s individual Lot at any
time. If a Development tenant is removed from the Club associated with
that Development by the Development Owner, all of the Lots rented by
the tenant will be evicted. The remaining rent in the 30-day Escrow is
credited to the Lot renter’s account.
Q. If a tenant can’t pay rent, what happens to the Development Lot?
A. The Lot is repossessed by the Development Zone owner, and can be rented by another member of the Development Club.
