Houses and Zones: Stages |
 |

|
Some FunZones come equipped with stages, where you can host a variety of events, from game shows to classes to plays and more! There are three types of stages: Quiz Show, Talk Show and Performance. All three stages have room for an MC, performers/contestants, and 12 audience members. Please Note: if the Event Host is charging admission to a staged event, everyone needs to pay the admission fee. If the Event Host wishes to allow contestants or VIPs to attend for free, they need to arrange reimbursement via the giving and receiving function. Reserve a stage by setting up an event and searching for/selecting a FunZone with a stage. Quiz Show Stage - The Quiz Show stage has two contestant podiums, one on each side of the Master of Ceremonies (or MC). If you have more than one contestant per team, their teammates should stand to the side of the podium (there is room for up to 3 avatars per side), and take turns at the podium.
- Each podium has a Buzzer. The MC must activate the buzzer before (or after) asking each question, by selecting "BuzzersOn" from their emotions bar. Once the buzzers have been activated, each contestant can hit "BuzzIn" from their emotions bars. Please Note: only the contestant standing at the podium can buzz in.
- Once someone has buzzed in, the buzzers will not work again until the MC reactivates them by hitting "BuzzersOn".
- We recommend hitting BuzzersOn, and then asking your question so that the BuzzIn can happen anytime, perhaps even before the question is finished!
- Audience members can ask questions and perform simple gestures from their emotions bars such as clapping, moving in their seats, and raising/lowering their hands.
Talk Show Stage Ever dreamed of hosting your own talk show? Here's your chance. Each talk show stage comes with seats for a host, and up to 2 guests at a time. When each new guest comes in, the current guest will have to stand up and move over one seat to make room in the hot seat (next to the talk show host). Ask questions, or take questions from the audience. It's your show! During the talk show event, audience members can ask questions and perform simple gestures from their emotions bars such as clapping, booing, moving in their seats, and raising/lowering their hands. Performance Stage Performance stages are also called 12-person clubhouses. In addition to finding them via FunZone search (see: Hosting your own event), you can find performance stages in There Central > Places > Rent a Clubhouse. Each performance stage has a moderator and a guest slot. These stages are incredibly flexible, and can be used for fashion shows, talent shows, presentations, and more! - People standing on the stage can chat with everyone. Both audience members and performers can read up to 7 chat balloons at a time (the MC, plus 6 other people in your view). If you have problems reading someone's chat balloon, try changing your camera angle and/or zooming in on them until you can read their balloon. The presenter/MC's chat is always on screen for everyone to see.
- You can drop things on stage to show them off (e.g. a hoverboard). However, if you try to put a chair or loveseat or bench on stage, it won't work very well.
- The MC/presenter has a gavel; using the "gavel" command will make everyone in the audience look at the presenter. Use the gavel to get the audience's attention when something important is being discussed.
- The MC/presenter has a microphone. They can give the mic to people in the audience by looking at the audience member, then selecting "givemic" from their emotions bar. When someone in the audience gets the mic, they become the speaker. They stand up (automatically) and their chat balloons are visible by everyone else on the stage and in the audience. The speaker can give the microphone back to the MC, or the MC can take it away. Only one person at a time can have the microphone.
- The performance stage has buzzers. The MC must activate the buzzer before (or after) asking each question, by selecting "BuzzersOn" from their emotions bar. Once the buzzers have been activated, audience members can hit "BuzzIn" from their emotions bars. The first person to BuzzIn will be designated by a big arrow pointing downward over their head, so it's easy for the MC (and audience) to see who buzzed in first.
- Once someone has buzzed in, the buzzers will not work again until the MC reactivates them by hitting "BuzzersOn".
- In addition to buzzing in, and speaking with the mic, audience members perform simple gestures from their emotions bars such as clapping, moving in their seats, and raising/lowering their hands.
