Tips

• From the menu bar at the bottom of your screen select People > IM.
• From the information window that appears, select the name of the person with whom you want to IM from the list and click the IM button to contact them. You can also use the Communicator (also launched from the People menu).
• An IM window will appear. Type in the message box at the bottom of the window.
• You can return to chatting with others around you by clicking anywhere outside the IM window and then typing.
• You can move back and forth from chat bubbles to IM with the Tab key or by clicking directly on the IM window.
• Chat bubble text will not appear in the IM window, and IM text will not appear as chat bubbles.
• You can have a maximum of four IM windows open at a time.
• You can paste text from another application into an IM by placing it on the clipboard (Ctrl+C or Ctrl+X), clicking in the text entry field, and pasting (Ctrl+V).
• To copy text from the IM history onto the clipboard, click and drag over the text you would like to copy and press Ctrl+C. You can then paste this text into another application (like Notepad).
