Emotions and Gestures

You can express yourself with body language and facial expressions by typing commands called Smilies, which begin with an apostrophe, or tick ('). Some common Smilies are:
  • smile
  • lol (for laugh out loud)
  • wave
When you type these commands, they appear in your chat balloon and your face and gestures match the emotion. If you don't want the Smiley to appear in your chat balloon, type a tick before and after the command, such as 'surprise'.

You can intensify a gesture by beginning it with two or three ticks. If you think something's pretty funny, type ''laugh. If you're really excited, type '''yay.

Emoticons (symbols) you might use in chat, such as :-) and :(, will also trigger these gestures, and do not need a ' before them.

Certain special gestures will cause animations to appear from your avatar, such as 'hearts or 'daggers.

Experiment! Here are more Smilies to try:

'grin
'mad
'surprise
'drat
'sad
'sexy
'coy
'tongue
'blush
'kiss
'wink
'yawn
'sleep
'what
