Avatars with the Premium membership package may communicate with voice.  A microphone is required.

When an avatar communicates in voice mode, squiggly lines appear above their heads. 

To begin voice operation, enter a chat group or group seating, click the Voice button and use the Voice Trainer.  This will adjust your microphone to the appropriate setting. 

In Hands-Free mode, your microphone is constantly on.

When Hands-free is off, press the Page Down button to talk.
