As part of the latest service update, new code has been put into the servers to allow a dedicated "asset server" to provide textures, models, and other graphics information, rather than the avatar servers themselves. This lets the avatar servers get back to what they're supposed to do, serving avatars, and we should see a performance increase as a result.

This feature has been turned on for one avatar server as we begin the live test of this new improvement to the service. If it goes well, we will turn the other asset servers on for the other avatar servers.
