After you purchase your PortaZone, it will appear in your My Things menu. To place your PortaZone in-world, select "Take Out" from your My Things menu. You may drop your PortaZone nearly everywhere dropping is allowed. (You cannot drop your PortaZone on top of avatars, on other objects, in restricted areas, or in the same spot as another PortaZone. PortaZones also cannot intersect FunZones, FrontierZones, houses or other PortaZones.) Put your PortaZone away by selecting "Put Away" from the action tag or "Retrieve" from your My Things menu. You only pay for the time your PortaZone is in-world.

Casual PortaZones must be refilled every four hours (refills are free); if you do not refill your Casual PortaZone before your four hours have expired, it will be automatically placed back into your My Things menu. Medium Builder and Large Builder PortaZones will remain in-world until your time has expired.

PortaZone features:

• You can drop up to 5 objects in your Casual PortaZone, and up to 30 objects in your Medium Builder or Large Builder PortaZone.
• The arrangement of objects in your PortaZone will remain intact, even when you put your PortaZone away. To use this feature, go to the This Place menu and select the object you would like to drop. (Objects dropped directly from your My Things menu will not retain their position when you move your PortaZone.)
• When you first drop your PortaZone, the boundaries will be indicated by a rope and four corner posts. Hide or show these boundary markers by selecting "Hide Boundary"/"Show Boundary" from your This Place menu. (You can also select "Hide Boundary" from the PortaZone's action tag.
• When your PortaZone is in-world, its meter is running; the action tag will show you how much time is remaining. Putting your PortaZone away stops the meter. You can add time via your PortaZone's action tag at any time. Your PortaZone remains in your My Things menu, even when it has run out of time.
• To ensure that members can move around freely in-world, any avatar can enter your PortaZone, but only you can drop objects in it. If someone is bothering you in your PortaZone, select "Ignore" from the People menu. If the person is still being a nuisance, go to Get Help on the menu bar and select "Call for Help."
• You may auction, give away, trade or sell your PortaZones at anytime. Please note, however, that your layout will not be retained when you give your PortaZone to another avatar.
• You may own as many PortaZones as you like.
• The amount of PortaZones you can have in-world at one time depends on your Fun Pass level.
